Please join us for our monthly work party. The forecast promises warmer temperatures for Saturday, making it the perfect day to get outside and do some trail work. If you've been in the vicinity of Fontaine Avenue this year you've seen the construction underway, and there's more to come. To prepare for some closures expected in the new year, the task for this weekend is to define a temporary reroute from Fontaine to Stribling.
Meet at the RTF Tool Shed at 2030 Morton Drive (past Bodo's and behind the English Inn) at 8:45 AM. We will gather tools, carpool to the work site to accomplish incredible things, and finish up at about 11:30. If you want to meet us at the work site, we'll be parking on Stribling Avenue Extended, just north of the railroad overpass.
Please wear work gloves and clothes We Please wear work gloves and clothes suitable for getting dirty in a forest environment. We will have tools you can use, as well as some gloves for those who need them, but if you bring your own tools - such as hand clippers, long-handles loppers, or a pruning or bow saw - be sure to label them with your name.
If you are coming as part of a large group or have questions, please email us at info@rivannatrails.org so we can be prepared to keep everyone busy and equipped with tools.
