Please join us this weekend for this month's Second Saturday work party. May's event serves double duty in that it also constitutes our Annual Meeting, at which we formally elect our board members (keeping us legal with the State Corporation Commission) and soliciting your input on initiatives for the coming year.
For the work party itself, we're partnering with the CAMBC, the Charlottesville Area Mountain Bike Club, on a major reworking of the trails at the north (Ivy Road) end of Observatory Hill. There will also be opportunities for the usual clipping and trimming in response to the spring growth spurt.
May 14 - Meet at the RTF Tool Shed at 2030 Morton Drive (past Bodo's and behind the English Inn) at 8:45 AM. We will conduct our annual meeting business, then gather tools and carpool to the work site to accomplish incredible things, and finish up at about 11:30. If you prefer to drive directly to the work site, there's parking available off Ivy Road, just east of the UVa police station: https://www.google.com/maps/dir//38.0459836,-78.5215987/@38.0454855,-78.5230988,17z.
If you are coming as part of a large group or have questions, please email Todd Niemeier, this month's work party leader, so we can be prepared to keep everyone busy and equipped with tools.
